meh..that's fine..that's like a 3 year difference. That's like a senior dating a freshmen or sophomore in college..not really a big deal..I mean after you're both 16+ it won't seem big at all..especially not after 18+..but at your ages..ppl may give you some sh*t about it. I wouldn't worry too much. just be aware..that when you are 18..she should hopefully be 15...at least..because there are some laws that you must be at least 2 and a half years w/in each others age (if you were ot engage in sexual relations and etc). If you two legitly care for each other don't worry about it..her parents might freak a little, so be nice and respectful around the parents..if you're just trying to "tap some young @$$" then..i suggest looking elsewhere..maybe someone at least 15-16 (given you're 17)?

When I was 17, I thought this wasn't a problem.
Now that I am older, I see that this is a real bad idea. I am assuming that the 14 year old is a freshman. A senior guy and a freshman girl is NOT a good idea. It's a man and a girl.
I am still amazed that the father of the freshman girl I dated even let it happen. I have three daughters and that won't happen (unless they sneak behind my back, in which case I'll hunt the guy down and kill him! :))
Anyway, back to your question - it's awkward for a reason, because you should stick to older girls.

Honestly, right now its ok, although in another year it will make a difference, which can make it even more awkward. When I was 14 I dated a 17 year old and we dated for three years. I got pregnant and had my daughter at 17. Everything was ok for my parents when we were dating, but once I got pregnant my Dad threatened to press charges for statatory rape. So be wise in your decision. Everything turned out ok because my Dad never went through with it.

If I were her parent I'd be happier to see her with another teen, than with some 20-something. Some young girls just like older guys. Three years isn't that big of a deal. But you are closer to adulthood, so don't be surprised if things don't last long.

Dude, first of all your 17 and she is 14. Your going to be 18 next year. The only thing I can say is to be careful because your playing with fire. Ask yourself do you want to be labeled and a one who dates very young people. Also ask yourself do you want to get arrested and labeled a different way (pedophile). Just be careful.

No. Sorry, but it's really not. Right now 3 years makes a HUGE difference in maturity- and if I were her mother, I would definitely not be okay with it, either. Plus in a year it won't even be legal! If you really have good intentions, like you seem to, then you should cut those ties now before you both get in too deep.

I agree with others, sorry dude, she really is too young to date. Think about this, in 2 years, you'll perhaps be in college, would you want to date a high school student with all the babes at college around??? Probably not, I'm guessing.

if she is turning 15 years old soon then its kind of alright but if she just turned 14 or somthing no way but its a 3 years age different so its not that bad but if u were 19 and up then yes then found ur some1 a little bit in ur age good luck with that

Legally it is acceptable. The problem you WILL have is once you turn 18. That's where you can face all sorts of legal ramifications. There are, however exceptions and ALL these exceptions will ALL depend on the parents of the minor. But you will also need to keep in mind whatever field of work you inquire about post graduation such as military service, etc.

No...I don't think it is all right. See you're 17 and she is only 14...she is a child. She may feel she has to do certain stuff to please you. She's too young.

It would be different if she were 17 and you 20.

Remain friends but don't go beyond that. Not for now anyway.
