The Lord knows a lie. Remember when the couple lied to the Apostles about a land deal? They fell down and breathed their last. I would be very concerned and go back first chance and tell the entire truth and tell them you lied the first time. They will not be hearing anything new and you can go behind the screen too. If your Church does not have a confessional with a screen be sure you find one because they should have one as it is a mandatory requirement! Seeing as how it is the Lord who grants absolution through the priesthood, I would say that you did not receive absolution.

Lying is wrong! Whether to a priest or another human, which is all a priest really is, another human.

I just though you should know that there is no need for confession to anyone but God himself, through prayer!

And that repentance is equally important. And repenting is not the same as confession!!!

Well, the point of confession in the Catholic church is to give voice to your sins and express out loud your regret for having done them. The priest is just God's mouthpiece; God is the one doing the forgiving. So pretty much you were lying to God, except that God already knows.

Lying is pretty much always wrong; it's even more wrong in confession cuz you have just cheapened the sacrament and jyped yourself of the experience.

Lying, large or small, is wrong.
The fact one lies to a priest doesn't make matters better or worse.
Little lies give birth to a pattern, a habit and you will turn to the practice when caught in an ugly big situation.
Lying eventually leads the liar not to trust anyone.

Why lie? Kinda like shooting a cop. You are lying to God's emmisarry and God knows you did. Now go back and tell the truth that you lied and clean it up so you can restore your integrity.

In the Confessional??? That compounds the original sin that you confessed.

If I were you I would go back to confession and make a good act of contrition today!!

Exodus 20:16 says:
"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

It is saying not to lie, the "size" of the lie doesn't matter.

You can lie all you want, But God knows all. When you lie, you are lying to yourself, and only yourself. There are no Secrets from God....
