There is nothing in return that the internship would offer and the position is not open on the job market; are there any regulations restricting such internships?
Thank you!

Because you are on F1 I assume you are a student, graduate or otherwise. The best solution is to ask the International Affairs Office at your university. They will know.

My best guess would be that you need to go on the OPT status (optional professional training) regardless of whether you are paid or not. It is not hard to get the OPT (which entitles you to work for 1 year, though it doesn't have to be continuous).

no, unless you plan to not be taking credit hours as well... you need to maintain you F1 status even if you are on an internship, or you need to get on OPT, or sign up for CPT (i think that what it is called), where you do like a semester or yr of work for pay or not, but not take classes....
consult your international student office if you are not quite sure.... but if you are still in status... you can engage in voluntary work, if you don't get paid.... I have done that before... it like learning for free in a work environment... but you still need 12credits for most school for undergrad or 9 for grad

nicely performed, Puddleduck for preserving off the fags!!! it fairly is totally troublesome or perhaps after years I nevertheless experience that i might like to eliminate darkness from. And if the following day they introduced that cigs have been alright to smoke then i might start up returned right now...yet i don't comprehend no rely if the tax from the sale of cigarettes can help shop the NHS ticking. If that became the case then why might the government spend lots of money to inspire human beings who smoke to provide up? might they surely need to loose that style of gross sales for good? i've got heard that the money they convey jointly from the taxes on ciggies bypass to anti-smoking campaigns and none of that money bypass to the NHS or to handle human beings who smoke. There are additionally anti-smoking charities and that i'm confident they get a super bite of this money. Nicorette products may well be won loose from the NHS besides. So why might they bypass into this huge expenditure purely to shoot themselves interior the foot by potential of loosing an stunning style of taxes from human beings who smoke?

You'll need to continue complying with all the regs about your F-1 (maintaining full time status, etc.). You'll also need to apply for OPT or CPT with your international office. We require EAD cards for all of our volunteers at my school.
