Try using a blow dryer first to get it kinds straight. Then use a good straightening iron made from ceramic plates and finish up with a wonderful product called smoothing milk by Garnier Fructis...works wonders!

There is a temporary hair straighener that lasts for 3 months called "EasyStraight". I have wavy, sometimes unruly, hair that this product works Great on.
EasyStraight also makes a product that is even less temporary lasting only one week if you don't want to be so committed to the look. Be sure to follow the instructions exactly or you could risk damaging your hair. (As with any chemical hair treatment.)
You can find this brand specifically at CVS. In my area the 3 month product runs about $30 while the 1 week treatment is about $16. You can also find the 1 week treatment online at www.cvs.com or use the link below under source.
Hope this helps!

I have the same problem but that happens probably because ur straightening ur hair and not using the right product before. Before straightening my hair I use a prodruct from Redken ( heat glide) and is in a brown bottle. Good luck!
