They're blinded to the truth that there are always consequences to every choice we make. Accept God...receive eternal life. Reject God...receive eternal death. Plain and simple. No middle ground, no gray area. By the way, God never sends anyone to Hell. Never, ever. People end up there by way of their own choosing. God has made a way for every person ever born to escape eternal death. Many mock it, and scoff it, claiming that they will get into Heaven by some other means. But that is not possible. To get to Hell, do nothing. To get to heaven, seek God with all your heart, and accept His plan of salvation for your life. Receive Jesus Christ into your heart, and allow Him to change you into the person you are meant to be.

If you have kids and use the idea of eternal punishment in hell as your template of how parents should discipline children, then someone needs to report you for child abuse.

Ahhhh! And you started off so calmly and reasonably.
Please do not confuse Christianity with christendom.
Christendom is a counterfeit, hypocritical abomination!
Christendom pushes the gruesome thought of a fiery hell, not Christianity.
Christendom is the one entity that has misrepresented God the most.

Just because YOU believe in a Hell, doesn't make it real.
So why should my rejecting the supposition that the Christian God is the only real God land me in a place I don't believe exists?

a loving parent wont send their child to the basement to rot for all eternity either

a loving parent disciplines their child so their child LEARNS from their mistake.

if we are allowed to learn from our mistakes in hell, then we wont be there for all eternity. we will have ability to go back to heaven. but that is not what is claimed by christians. they say we are going to be punished for eternity.... loving parents dont do that.

God and religion are creations of the mind, and therefore do not apply to anything, so stop worrying about heaven and hell and live your life.

Actually most people are going to purgatory, not hell but leaving that aside, after reading Tertullian's description of heaven there are those of us who would prefer to go to hell!

If I'm burning for eternity on a lake of fire how am I going to learn my lesson?
When I discipline my kid for being sassy or rejecting what I know is good for him, I don't burn him alive.
Why?
A. Because I love him
B. He won't learn if he is dead...
