Two recipes that are tried and true... Easy easy tasty recipe I found not long ago- It is a BIG HIT in my home. I have no name for this so it would be fun to have your kids make up the name as they'll want this over and over again!
No Name Burger Dinner
Saute diced onion in pan / add ground beef and saute broken up /
add 1 can cream of mushroom soup when meat browned / a bit of water/ 1 beef bouillian for added flavor / simmer for 10 min. . This is yummy!
I add extra sliced mushrooms with meat before adding soup but know the extra may not be kid friendly. With the canned soup by itself, the mushrooms go undetected. I also have added about a TB of flour to thicken the mix but it is not necessary.
I've tried this over rice and it is good as well, tho I prefer the potatoes. Serve over mashed potatoes along with side of green vegetable, such as green beans mixed with a little chedder cheese.
Another- Lipton Onion Soup Meatballs
1lb hamburger
1pack lipton soup
2 eggs 1/2 c milk
flour
Mix eggs in bowl/add hamburger/milk and soup mix (i save 1/3 for gravy). Roll into golf ball or smaller size. Roll balls into flour and then saute all til browned / Add water to just cover meatballs and simmer for 30 min/
The floured meatballs thickens the water into a gravy. You may need to add a bit more/ sometimes i sprinkle additional flour onto meatballs when browninging and leave a tiny in pan before i add the water. Taste gravy as you may want to add a touch more soup mix.
Serve with mashed potatoes. This is also good but a touch more work. The onions sort of disappear into the mix. If there are many people to feed, make meatballs smaller. ** I also think you could stir in a can of jellied cranberry sauce to the mix and it would be a good flavor.(tho I would not serve over potatoes) I like this idea and will now try it myself!
Fun!
My mom made the meatballs often per our requests.

Take the time that you have now and put it to good use .If you have extra ground beef left than make some meatballs and throw them in the freezer that way the next time you make sauce ofr whatever you will have them already done or you can do meatball subs for a quick lunch.

I like to fry up the ground beef and put it in scalloped potato's, or you can make a Sheppard's pie with it....fry it up with an onion and add about 2 packets of brown gravy mix plus 2 cups of water and simmer till it starts to get thick. In the meanwhile you will need to cut up and boil 4 potato's and then mash them with butter and milk and if you like add some fresh herbs. Also you will need to cook up some frozen peas and corn (or whatever frozen veggie you like). After the peas and corn are done then add them to the meat and brown gravy and put that into a 9x9 square baking dish or a round one. Add the mashed potato's on top of that and then put lots of shredded cheddar cheese on the top of that. Bake at 450 for 20 min. Good Luck!
