drop the idea of soulmate, bride and lover...
expect yourself to find a friend within the internet, anything beyond friendship goes into development after meeting offline.
internet is just for chatting, friendship and making dates.
love is created by physical contact, communicating and sharing time togather, internet doesnt offer all of that.
start by going to different dating sites.
dont go to non-dating sites to try to pick up women, dating sites were made specifically for finding women.

just join one of the many sites for making friends / penpals / chat buddies, etc such as:

http://meetme.hotornot.com
http://www.prisonpenpals.com
http://www.interpals.net (for this last one, although it's a genuine site, it's kinda gone downhill and kinda needs your pop-up blocker & anti-spyware defenses up to date)
After that, it's just a matter finding someone on the site you kind of click with, keep in touch with them as much as possible via e-mail / snail-mail / instant messenger, etc and gradually get to know them that way as it's often easier to say stuff with text than it is open your mouth and say it when sharing things.

Simple - you keep looking, talking to people and meeting the ones that seem to be the best match until you meet the right one.

well....i dont know if you can, but i know one thing if you're going to internet date:
u gotta make sure you post a pic on the net bcuz no one, it seems wants to respond to a post with no pic, or if they did you really had to ham it up on the words....
secondly: please make sure your pic is a recent pic of you and not someone else or 10 years old...
lastly be yourself...
