I have frozen leftovers from meals I made with green tinned lentils, and kidney beans (like stews/chillis etc) but I haven't frozen them straight out of the tin. They were ok once defrosted and warmed through, so I guess it is fine! I haven't done it with chickpeas though.

You can free them but they do tend to go a bit mushy! Just try and buy the smallest tin you can. As for chick peas, make hummous with the left over peas or eat them the next day in a salad.
