Lets face it Iraq and Saddam, were never a threat to us, but they were to Israel.
During the next fifty years we will do the same to Iran and Syria, guaranteed because they also pose a threat to Israel.
Obviously American media and government wont tell you this, including people in this very question. However masses of people in other countries already know this, but they cant do anything about it. That’s why its important to research for yourself.

Iraq was invaded 'to protect Israel' - US official By Emad Mekay
WASHINGTON - Iraq under Saddam Hussein did not pose a threat to the United States, but it did to Israel, which is one reason why Washington invaded the Arab country, according to a speech made by a member of a top-level White House intelligence group.
Inter Press Service uncovered the remarks by Philip Zelikow, who is now the executive director of the body set up to investigate the terrorist attacks on the US in September 2001 - the 9/11

I wish America would stop trying to play "big brother" to the rest of the world and look inward to our own problems first.
Or here's an even better thought:
Let's try to actually get Osama bin Laden. It's been 5 1/2 years since 9/11 and he's still out there on the loose. Why are we in Iraq if we know he's in Afghanistan?

Iraq was not a threat to Israel. Apart from scuds in 1991, Iraq has never been a threat. Without the USA's leash, Iraq would've been a glass parking lot after the first scud hit Tel-Aviv. Iraq could not have defended against the IAF.

I think enough is enough. President Bush should send HIS MILITARY GENERALS into Iraq with the order to take over the Country by grid, and turn it over to the Administration. Period. No more bullshit, no more talking. nothing. No more politicians in their leather chairs in Washington saying how we should use diplomacy, etc. They are soft-handed do-nothings, who know absolutely nothing about what "war" means. Perhaps we should listen to the Democrats and just say nice things to terrorists. Perhaps we could serve tea........
This Country better wake the hell up. People want to kill us. If it means going into Iran and Syria and anyone else who is a threat - hey, we are the Strongest Country in the World - why the hell should we pretend we aren't??
If someone is screwing with us, they get an utlimatum: either straighten up, or we'll come in and straighten you up. Either you set up a government we can deal with, or we will set it up for you: If we don't like the one you set up, we'll come in, bomb you again, and then set you up a new one. No more crap. I've had it with tootsy-footsy.
Do you think General Patton would've put up with this ****? People today think that war means watching Barbara Walters on TV in Iraq.
Its an insult to every soldier who fought in WWI and II, not to mention Korea, etc.

Actually, by removing Saddam we amplified Iran's threat to Israel and our gulf "allies". Saddam's Iraq was a buffer between our allies and Iran. Now the buffer is gone and has been replaced by an expected Iranian proxy in the new Shi'a majority Iraq. So, yours and Mr. Zelikow's assumptions are based on incorrect notions of geopolitical strategy.

Saddam was a threat. Before Shock and Awe, he was selling oil to France priced in euros.
The U.S. manages to fund its $8.3 TRILLION deficit by keeping oil priced in U.S. $. (The rest of the world then has to maintain cash reserves in order to buy oil.) Sell enough oil in any other currency and the U.S.'s ability to maintain its astronomical deficit spending collapses.
Iran would like to set up an oil exchange priced in euros, which would be an even greater challenge to $ supremacy.
It ain't about nuclear, it ain't about atrocities, and it certainly ain't about Israel. It's all about the U.S. desperately trying to sustain an unsustainable economy.

It's a conspiracy!!! Everything is a conspiracy! The Jews and Masons control the world... well they split the rule with other organizations that I can't mention and for a bit of fun they have a few local wars!
In the absence of hard reason and plausible explanations come up with a conspiracy theory!
Oh, and a quick scan of the link you provided should do one of two things: Immediately reduce your IQ, or completely disregard it as total and complete trash.

How about invading ourselves, having all of our troops return home and the money now spent in war, be used in the home front for universal health care, medications for the elderly and the disable, improving our eduactional system, create jobs, advance in sciences and technology, and fund Social Security, and teach the USCIS only to deport foreign nationals, instead of deporting American citizens to foreign countries as if they were aliens?
