When I was 17 I couldn't wait to be 18 (the drinking age back then), as soon as I turned 18, the drinking age went to 19 years old. So when I turned 19, they made the drinking age 21, go figure!

This is what I was always told. If you're under 21, it's forbidden fruit, if you will. And whenever it's around you just have to drink as much as you can. It's because it's taboo.
But you hit 21 and realize you can buy it anytime, then the taboo is lifted, it's no longer forbidden and you calm down.
At least that's the theory I've always heard. It's not sneaky anymore.

No way!! I can drink about twice as much now as when I was 17. Teenagers may drink frequently, but if you put a group of college freshmen against a group of college seniors, who do you think would win the drinking contest?

I think the years of senior year in high school until sophmore\ junior year in college are the biggest drinking years. Before senior year in high school, you have less interests in drinking because you're trying to do school work and get into college. Senior year you can let your hair down, you also look older so its easier to obtain alcohol. We all know about the college life of getting drunk atleast 2wice a week for most people, but by the time you're a senior you probably are trying to get ready to start your "life" and probably have a job and things of that nature.

I think that they do, at parties or whenever they get a chance to. Its probably because of the thrill of it being illegal. Also, its because its something new for them so they're still all excited and they dont get to do it often. And when you hit 21, you can drink anytime you want to, so its not at all exciting.

I'd say so...its because we want what we cant have. I think they should lower the drinking age, there would be less problems.
