He probably would not. It’s not that he isn’t sincere in his conviction, but the man has to make a living, and there is no reason why he should forgo to profits from the book. After all the cost of “A Letter to a Christian Nation” is so cheap that it is not prohibitive.
I know that this is a bit presumptive, but if you cannot afford a book as cheap as “A Letter to a Christian Nation”, you are probably not all that interested in the subject matter to begin with. After all, who wouldn’t sacrifice a few material luxuries, if they are truly interested in a subject.
Besides, Sam Harris gives lectures to many organizations, that post them on places like YouTube for free. So he is in essence enjoying the best of both worlds. He is making good money off of his writing, and he is disseminating his philosophy in a format that is accessible to people of limited means.

Well for one think if people would allow themselves to believe for a moment that Christians were capable of those things they would realize that there are a lot of angry domineering Christians out there who care about their own view only. I would also suggest some further reading. A book called Holy Terror by Flo Conway wrote sometime in the 80's about Christian harassment of non believers. They would also seriously harass people of the Jewish faith for hours to convert them to Christianity simply so that they could say that the Jews are being converted and it must be the end times and bible prophecy is being fulfilled. Scary stuff.

Well, since I don't know what it's about, I couldn't tell you..
But, let me go Google it and see what it's about.
EDIT:
Wikipedia is the new Cribnotes..
I'd say those who are open minded would embrace the ideas that the author states whereas fundies and the ignorant would take it as an attack on their beliefs. It would only polarize the people.

Some would get it, and some wouldn't, and some would take bits and pieces of it but not all, and some would be angry, and Sam Harris would be very rich.

It should be bundled with "The God Delusion" and a sample box of zyprexa (use only as directed, see a doctor).
Then the world would become much more peaceful.

What would happen if everyone read the religious books of all the different faiths?
I think it would be a better place.

What, like everyone in the world?
Hmm, I don't think it would move the fundies. They're unmovable. But moderates might be motivated to reconsider their positions.
