On the foodnetwork they always use rum to make a quick sauce to poor over any type of dessert some involve bananas, pineapple that type of thing. So what brand do I use?

Myer's Dark Rum has a nice mellow flavor, no alcohol edge to it

Hmmm.

It's really personal preference here.

My favorite dark rum is one that's not been mentioned yet - Black Seal - and it's the only rum I buy or drink since trying it. Not as well known maybe as some of the others mentioned, but terrific tasting for desserts and sweet drinks. From Bermuda and oh so good.

Meyers. It's in a very dark bottle with a yellow label last I knew. It's the traditional dark rum in Planter's Punch.
