How much less fat does 1% or 2% have compared to whole?

Sorry! I meant whole milk is about 3.7% fat, so they have 1.7-2.7% less than whole milk

When you see that percent it is the percent of the milk content that is fat. Whole milk is 3.5% milk fat which represents the amount found in milk naturally (that's why they call it whole milk) before any is removed as in 1% which has had 2.5% of the fat removed.

According to my carton of whole milk, 8 grams of fat or 12% of the RDA for 1 cup.

Whole milk is 4% fat. Half and half is 10%. Coffee cream is 18%. Heavy cream--well, don't know about that. :) Maybe that's a good thing, lol.
