I believe you have to wait untill you are 18. There may be documentation on or with your birth certificate (ie adoption papers). Your parents would undoubtedly have a copy of this documentation, you may look into court records for the county and state in which you were adopted. Alternatively, you can hire a private investigator to look into this matter. Most of these avenues could be best explored once you are legally an adult.

Only after you are 18. And then only if your birth parents want to be found. Also be prepared to only be able to find your mom, your bio dad may not even know about you.

Just be sure you are ready for what you find. Your bio mom did the best she could for you at the time. Sometimes it turns out to be the worst choice for HER, though. I have a friend who gave up her child and never got over it, she is now a regular drug user. Her life turned out horrible. Could you handle something like that? With out blaming yourself? What if the opposite is true? What if your bio parents now have a wonderful life? Can you understand that they still had to make a tough choice without knowing the future?

Whether your adoptive parents know about your search or not, please have a supportive person help you with your search. You will be digging up feelings that you are still awful young to deal with. I wish you luck, and hope you find what you need, but remember that your parents choices are theirs, and they do not have to negatively affect your life.

Your adoption parents should have told you who they are, unless they don't even know. Thay shouldn't keep that from you. I would talk to them about it, just tell them you are wanting to know about your background and why you do some of the things you do. It's nothing against them, your just curious. I'm not sure if you could do it without them or not. I know you would have to be DNA tested, all of you so you can match your birth parents. I know you will problebly think i'm crazy but, You would problebly be best off to call Maury and tell him your story. I'm sure he would help you!

wait two more year and you can, but all depends on your biological parents also, they might have ask to not to release any info, but I think everything will work out better if you talk to ur adoptive parents, is better to to things in peace....I know everyone will like to know where they come from, and have the rights to know, but sometimes is better not to find out, there are many things that can hurt us for the rest of our life, but if this happens, just learn how to live with it...My best wishes

I think you have to wait until you are 18 or that your adotpive parents help you. Another way may be to ask people who you know that may have known your parents.

speak to an attorney they're in the phone book, tell them on the phone you are 18, [normally i hate deceit but i am tired of adults not giving repect to teenagers just because they don't have money] most first consutations are free. or when you get a bit older and have some cash-hire a REPUTABLE private investagator.
