Well not at all, age is just a number and the advantage that the 21 year old would have; is more knowledge and experience.
At the end of the day it's your life and you should live it how you please, people will always talk and judge you no matter what you do in this life.
As long both of you are happy and comfortable with each other that is all that counts.

Having said that check your state laws there is a difference in the guys and girls ages.
If your OK with the law now you need to look at the young man is he mature enough to deal with an adult relationship?
We had a murder in Missouri that falls into what your into, because the boy snapped when the break up came because he wasn't mature enough to deal with, not saying adults can do any better job

It could cause some issues because of one party being a minor, but the 4 yr difference may not be all that significant otherwise if the 17 yr old is more mature than those their age typically are, or the 21 yr old is less mature (than their age typically are).

Weird? No. Illegal? Possibly, depending upon if there is physical intimacy involved. Possibly problematic? Definately. All a minor has to do is to CLAIM sexual inpropriety and the adult can go to jail. Be careful.
Note - An 18 year old can have the same problems mentioned above because 18 is the legal age to be considered an adult. I have actually heard of an 18-year-old arrested for rape because his girlfriend's parents found out she slept with him and they pressed charges. She was 17.

not really its only four years so its not that weird im 17 and i would date a 21 year old without really any second thought to it

If the guy is 21 then he has some problems. If the girl is 21, the 17 year old must be pretty mature. SO if the guy is 21 yes that is pretty stupid. He just wants some 17 year old ***

I don't think it's weird as long as one person isn't taking advantage of the younger person.
A four-year age difference is nothing when you're a bit older, no one would ask a 32 yr old if dating a 36 yr old was weird.

weird no illegal maybe depends on were you live some states 16 is legal age if your state is not then statutory rape of a minor.me my first time was with my best friends aunt she was 25 and i was 15 it was great. people think that an older person with a younger person messes them up for life well their wrong .i turned out just fine.and i would not trade that experience for anything.

It's not weird...being 21 makes that person alot more mature so therefore, there is an imbalance going on as far as that's concerned.
It's definately not an unheard of situation though.
