The key is to make sure you don't alienate the older folks who might be attending the reception. It's a bonus if you motivate them to get up and dance!

Anyway, some suggestions:

Shout! -- The Isley Brothers
Do You Love Me? -- The Contours
YMCA -- The Village People
Old Time Rock~n~Roll -- Bob Seger
Twist and Shout -- The Beatles
500 Miles -- The Proclaimers

What do you mean by 'wedding songs'? Songs to walk down the isle too or songs for before the ceremony or songs for your reception?

Take My Breath Away (I like Jessica Simpson's updated version)

Let's Stay Together, by Al Green

When You Say Nothing At All (Alison Krauss version -- country lite, not twangy)

There aren't any "wedding songs"...just songs that you like and want to have played... I wouldn't follow any guidelines, just have great music...people will appreciate that. At my wedding, we had lots of Beatles and such.
