I wouldn't do that, at least not right away. Any changes - especially something as drastic as this - will definitely stress your tame bird. Get another cage then see whether they will get along and would be able to share one cage. Chances are - they won't. But if you shove them in the same cage together when you get the conure, one of them may kill the other one. It's a territory thing which obviously, the two cockatiels share without problem. (And you know what? You can tame the aviary cockatiel if you have a lot of love, patience and a good glove. Tame him to where he'll at least get on your finger.) Bringing in a new bird and taking his friend away - just think like a bird and then maybe you will make a better decision. Just because your cockatiel is tame does not mean he will tolerate another bird in his space.

I don't think you can keep a conure and a cockatiel in the same cage. A cockatiel is a dust bird and may make the conure sick. If you give your cockatiel enough out of cage time and attention he will not get lonely. The conure and cockatiel will be able to play together but not sleep together because of the dust issue.

nicely i'm no expert, yet I easily have had a cockatiel, a eco-friendly cheek conure, and a pink bellied parrot (the small form of parrot). the eco-friendly cheek conure and pink bellied parrot fairly bond from my own experience. They bonded plenty with me that no one else could have something to do with them. the eco-friendly cheek conure and pink bellied parrot have even picked up my precise laugh, human beings could come over and that they think of i'm giggling and this is my birds giggling. The even mock the ring of my telephone and fool me continuously!!! i individually enjoyed the cockatiel (regrettably i be responsive to longer have the cockatiel) however the eco-friendly cheek conure and pink bellied parrot have been my favorites. The cockatiel I had did no longer seem to bond with me the way the different 2 did. The conure and pink bellied parrot are very energetic and clever. i be responsive to you probably did no longer ask something with regard to the pink bellied parrot, in simple terms sharing my experience. The conure is likewise very loving in simple terms because of the fact the pink bellied parrot is. yet between the cockatiel and eco-friendly cheek conure, i could opt for the eco-friendly cheek conure in simple terms because of the fact of my own experience. stable success to you.

If its a green cheek conure DO NOT put it with the cockatiel he will torment it and possibly kill it.They do not get along. Also the cockatiel you are keeping will probably be lonely for its cage mate.

I cared for numerous exotic birds and let me tell you...birds can depress easily. Just keep the bird busy, play a lot and give some new toys. Play music softly and sing to it...or even just talk to it. Birds like experience new things....I now have a conure who just enjoys watching me. He joins me when I wash dishes, feed the cats in the morning, make a salad....anything. I let him watch movies with me. A busy bird is a happy bird.

I guess it would depend on how long you have had the birds for Have you ever split them up before If not you can try that then you'll know but keep the birds out of site so they can't see each other I would say that they would miss each other if they are used to being together
