Any system is effective. You are looking at about 4500 square feet. Are you asking which is more economical? Consider the initial costs compared to the pay back on savings. You may want to consider a gas fired absorption system - it has a higher initial cost but a low operating cost. Has a longer pay back but more stable system with less moving parts and usually a 20 year guarantee on the generator.

The answer is how many separate air handlers (evaporators if your talking about a air cooled A/C system) are you going to install. Usually the freon based air cooled system is on to one, so that will tell you how much you will spend on them. If you have multiple air handlers, a chiller (water cooled system) can handle all at the same time.
