WTF? We give them tax exempt status already and they don't even have to work for their money in the first place ;as the money is just given to them by church goers.
We didn't take on the church to support like a kid. If they can't control their priests that like to suck little boys pee-pee's then they should have to pay out the **** to make things right with the victims of their abuse
Chuch's shouldn't be about money....especially the catholics...look at all the gold and crap the pope wears and no telling how much gold they stole form Europe during WW II.

I agree - they do not deserve bankrupcty protection. It sickens me that it will be granted... They should be forced to pay. If they go bankrupt, so be it. Instead, those people who have already had their childhood and innocense stolen by the Church, will have to go on record, relive those horrible memories - and get NOTHING in return.

I hope the priests rot in jail and experience rape themselves. By men with very large penises. And no lubrication.

Legally they are entitled, like anyone else. Ethically, it really is a different question, isn't it? One really wonders why this is a systemic problem and not confined to one particular diocese or area. But then again, I'm a bankruptcy lawyer, not a sociologist or theologian. And from what I can tell, sexual abuse by religious people is not necessarily limited to Catholics. So that is a serious societal problem too.
