Because my g/f and I have known each other since 2000, we both have a large amount of the same friends from high school and college.

I'd like to incorporate some of our close friends with my marriage proposal, but still keep it romantic and a surprise for her. But if you have some fun thoughts, I'd like to hear those too. The more the merrier.

Any ideas?

Oh, we live in Houston, TX if that helps.

Dating 7 years? Then I think you know if she will say yes or not. You have to be mindful that you've put her in an awkward situation. She can't say no in front of everyone...

But unless you two have gotten your signals crossed... You'll be ok.

I would try to surprise her with it. How's this, public place, art gallery, zoo. Where there are a lot of people. Keep everyone out of sight until you get to a certain location where they came come out into the open behind her.

Then, all of a sudden, drop to a knee, tell her she is the most wonderful woman in the world and you want to marry her. Then ask, "will you marry me?". At this point the crowd erupts, everyone is crying...

Of course, you'll need to scope out the area to see where it is feasible. Bring a couple of friends so they know where to hide everyone and what to do.

Houston, don't they have a riverwalk mall there? If I remember there is an outdoor amphitheater.. Hmm... Possibilities... go to a outdoor show, sit up front, friends & family fill in the back rows… Show over, do it. Crowd will go wild. I’m tearing up just thinking about it…

Congrats. Best wishes.

Do you have any common interests? I always envy those women whose fiances propose on the jumbotron or at some event.....But seriously, the mere fact that you're putting a lot of thought into this is fantastic. Think about a fun way to make it something special for her. You may want to just have everyone meet you after you've asked....like a surprise party at your favorite restaurant, etc. Keep in mind she won't remember how much money you've spent, but the sincere sentiment behind it. Good luck finding something. She's lucky to have you. (Just don't forget to ask her parents first---they'll love you forever for that.)

Only if you know you know she going to yes and mean it.

If not you’re going to feel like the biggest loser in the world in front of your friends.

Good Luck

No! Don't do it unless you want to hear no.
