I think your right. Sex is a creation of God to help speed up evolution. After our lives here on earth there is no need for gender. Maybe that's why it's so nice in heaven, no hormones!
Men and women are the same spiritually but different physically

According to St. Thomas Aquinas, no, the soul does not have a sex. Gender is a property of the body. Likewise, the other differences between the sexes reside in the body.
The human soul is what gives a person the quality of their 'human-ness.' Neither men nor women have more 'human-ness' than the other -- they are equally human by their nature. Since there is no difference between the 'human-ness' in the genders, there is no difference between the souls that give them their 'human-ness.'

You miss the point. There will be no marrying or procreation in heaven because God is gathering all the eternal citizens of heaven at this time. That is why you need a Savior while you are still in the flesh. I think the distinction between male and female on this planet is for procreation. No one knows what their new heavenly bodies will be or look like but no, sex is not necessary in heaven. We will live eternally, so no need to reproduce.

when U read in the book of 1st Corinthians 15th chapter, it tells u about the mortal and Immortal being. The same way U look in the Flesh (Soul) is the same way U will look like in a spiritual body ( Spirit or just plain Immortal " incorruptible") Appearance will not change just the change in body material. ( from mortal to immortal ).PLAIN & SIMPLE

Actually, when they first start out in the womb, the fetus could go either way, so in that respect, yes, they are the same.
However, men and women share different mind sets; similar but different ways of thinking about and approaching issues. So in that respect, no, they are different.
You choose.

it appears that we will be genderless immortal beings in heaven, like the angels. Jesus said that there will be no marrige in heaven, (Luke 20:27-36), implying there will be no genders and therefore no sexual relations.

Your question stems from a mistaken premise. The soul is mortal.
"The soul that sins, IT ITSELF will die." - Ezekiel 18:4, 20.

It does not engage in sex. It does not engage in marriage. Not sure if it has the equipment or not.
However, in the flesh we do, and we are different. Male and Female.
