my daughter was about 3 months. she wasn't too big for the bassinet, but really liked stretching out. and she was also done breastfeeding, so that made the decision easier.

We moved him to his own room at 6 months (although we had the crib in our room, not a bassinet)

All seven of my babies slept in their own room in their own crib from the night they came home from the hospital. If you read this board much you will see countless questions about how to transition a child who doesn't want to start sleeping in their crib. Why not start as you mean to go on? use the crib from day one and you'll never have a problem.

Both my boys were four months old. They went into the bassinet and out of our bed around three months and then into the crib in their own bedrooms at four months. I put them down for naps in their bedrooms starting at around two months so they would be used to sleeping in their rooms.

I had a crib in my room in which my girls both slept in until they were 3 months old and started sleeping through the night, then moved it into their room. And they have been sleeping there ever since.

I never slept in my parents room, from birth I had my own room and it never made much difference to be honest.

I always said that no matter if you have your baby in your bedroom or her own bedroom you are the only one who is going to wake up and meet her needs. In my case my baby was in his own bedroom since newborn.
