If you are morbidly obese, your first step should be visiting a doctor and getting a check-up. Any crash diets and strenous exercise plans should be reviewed. You do not want to add to your problems by having a heart attack.
I would start out small. Start walking. Around the block, in a park. Something cheap where you only have to buy a good pair of walking shoes. Get a partner, you will stick to an exercise plan best if you have company.
Moniter what you eat. Start out with regular meals, and fix your plate like you normally would. Then, scope 1/3 back and do not get seconds. Pack your lunches for work, no fast food. Since you will normally snack during the day (everyone does), make sure you have good things to eat; apples, cucumbers, celery.
Good luck

First i recommend talking to your doctor about your situation. Because i am not one i can only give you some ideas. But its important to go talk to a doctor.
Limit your calorie intake. An average women eats around 2000 calories a day. You should keep a journal to keep track of what you eat on a normal day(just because something says 120calories doesn't mean that its 120calories, look at the serving size too). If you want to start losing weight try doing activities that increase your heart rate for an extended period of time. Start out small like walking or anything that makes you out of breath. Losing weight take a long time especially if you are morbidly obese.

Like the other George said, exercise, but you also need to diet. Easier said then done, I know. Limit your diet to 1500 calories a day, and start out by walking a mile each day. This will help you lose weight. The thing is, you have to eat healthy along with exercise. If you eat 10 hamburgers at one meal, you will never lose weight. Go see a doctor to see what diet is good for you.
Whatever you do, don't give up on the diet and exercise. It will only help you.

if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins. This allows your body to get all the things it needs to function correctly and so you don’t feel hungry or tired. By doing this instead of going on one of these current craze diets you will be successful. I used a protein based diet with Herbalife after a friend who had lost weight recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so fairly easily. There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right path to choose, I could tell the difference right away. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. They are fun to work with as well as being serious about helping you lose weight.
I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them, the tips you get and encouragement are excellent (their advice and time is FREE). I am still with them so I stay healthy. The owners will advise you on what to purchase depending on what you want to lose, my sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in less than five months. The website is www.myhealthabc.com, if you want to lose the healthy way and quickly then this is for you. You just leave your details and they call you up, I would suggest that if you aren’t sure or don’t want someone to ring you then go to their main site www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages. This is what I did before I went to the first site and left my details so they could contact me. You can see with all the products and detail they have that they mean business. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health instead of someone just trying to sell you something. I am confident now that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I think so long as you are serious about losing weight then these guys will genuinely get you there

By taking initiative to change your lifestyle. You could try the fad diets, but they have a high risk of gaining all the weight back.

I recently did this, and it helped me a lot to lose the weight:

Start by getting rid of all snacks in your house that are unhealthy. Replace them with fruits and veggies and 100-calorie packs. They have a lot of 100-calorie packs out there now, and they're delicious.

Second, kick the soda to the curb. Seriously. One soda a day equals 15 pounds of weight gain in one year. The sugar in it is SO bad for you. Switch to water. If you need flavor, try the crystal light on the go packs without sugar, or the flavored vitamin water.

Start to look at labels, especially calories. People always talk about calories, and there's a reason for that. Calories turn into fat if your body doesn't burn them off. Google calorie calculator, and you can find out how many calories a day you should be eating to lose weight. Read every label. There are a lot of foods out there that seem healthy, but are actually not.

Plan to lose weight the healthy, steady way. Don't expect to dramatically lose all your weight right away. 1-2 pounds a week is the norm. Accept that you will also hit plateaus. Just remember to keeping going.

You HAVE to work out. Join and gym and take advantage of any free personal trainer sessions. If you can't afford a gym (like me) buy home work out DVDs. I do cardio kickboxing three times a week (I like Janis Saffel DVDs) and Pilates twice a week.

Eat smaller, more frequent meals. This keeps your metabolism up. Snack on fruit. Buy Skinny Cow ice cream products if you're an ice cream lover like me. Cut your meal in half at restaurants and take the other half home. Try to order from the "low-fat" portion of the menus if available. Lost of chain restaurants will have weight watchers and light entrees, which are delicious.

These tips should help you a lot. It's most important to also remember that if you slip up, just start over with your next meal or snack. It's frustrating at times, but we're all human. Join weight loss support groups or online message boards. Ask friends if they want to lose weight with you. Doing it with other people helps because then you're not alone.

I really hope this works for you. Stick with it once you start. You deserve to be healthy :)

Good luck, hun :)

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

You need to first see your MD and get a physical to make sure that you can exercise. He will take your BP, do some lab work, etc. After you get the all clear, you might want to consider a very low calorie diet - it's targeted for people who are morbidly obese. I think they give you about 800 calories per day to work with. You also need to start exercising. Because you are a larger person, start out at a slow and steady pace. I'd say start walking...go for as long as you can and each week (or every few days) up the amount of time that you walk for. It feels great, gets the blood flowing, and if you set weekly goals for yourself as opposed to one HUGE goal it will make it more achievable! Good luck and god bless!

Find some small goals. Have a free day to eat what ever you want. Start a cardio workout 3 times a week for at least 45 min, and go on a high protein diet, eating 6 times a day.

You have a BMI over 40, or are you exaggerating?

If you do have a BMI over 40, then you need to see your doctor before you start ANYTHING. There may be other factors going on, and someone needs to be monitoring your progress.

Otherwise, focus on changing your unhealthy habits for healthy ones. Focus on changing your lifestyle, and the body will follow. With that in mind, try to eat a well-balanced, calorie-restricted diet, drink water, and get moderate exercise. Don't worry if you don't do it all at one time - make progress towards these goals, and work on one at a time if you have to.

Good luck! I counted calories, and lost 20+ pounds.
