my sister was proposed to when we all went camping. it was the coolest and very romantic. we all knew about it ahead of time. we all brought champaigne and a special steak dinner we did over the fire.
the night he proposed, we went on a hike and brought a blanket and some champainge that she thought was water. we went up to where the trail overlooked the lake and he put the blanket down. we were sitting around talking and took off out separate ways while he actually proposed. we came back and he was smiling, she was crying and it was great.
we went back to the campsite and had the dinner and celebrated all night.
there are many different ways to make the camping night romantic for cheap especially if she loves camping like you do.

We are a "camping" family, too and I LOVE that idea. Niagra falls is kind of cliche and I'm telling you(as a woman) that she is going to cry and become very shaky and emotional. The guys at the bottom of the rides keep anything that falls out of your pockets, so I'd say they'd probably be pretty happy with a big ol diamond ring that fell from the top of the ferris wheel. Anyway, I do really like the idea of the camping trip and I like even better the idea that friends and family will be there to celebrate(of course the proposal should be done in private). If you decided to do the camping thing...your next quesiton is whether or not to let the friends in on your secret first. It would be awesome if they had a "party" ready when you get back to the camp site, but you have to know your friends. You wouldn't want anyone to spoil the surprise!
Good Luck forever and ever!

You don't have to spend a lot of money to make this special ! It will be special because of what it means and the sentiment involved. I think the camping is the one. If you go with freinds, then the moment between the two of you is lost a bit because of the other people there. The hotel thing is okay too, but it's not as nice as the camping. I would really rethink the whole freind thing with the camping. Maybe the freinds could come up the following day ? That way you could be alone for the important stuff. I think it would be fun for the freinds to come and you would have this news for them. Whatever you do, good luck and happy life, or should I say lives !

It all depends what your girl is like. Is she an outdoorsy type of person? If so, stick with that camping deal. Or if you know that she likes to be treated with a little high class and pampered, then go with the hotels deal. I'm not sure if the ferris wheel one could work, unless you talk to the ride engineer to have them stop the ride in a specific place in the air, and then you could do that. Those sound like all great ideas to do, though. Something I could suggest is that a picnic under the stars in a lovely park somewhere? Well, whatever happens, best of luck! :)

Is she a camper? If not, then that wouldn't be a good idea. If she is, then why not ask her there? I for one hate ferris wheels and would not want to be proposed to on one, but that's just me. I don't think the amusement park idea is a good one because there are too many distractions and a girl likes to have it be a special moment, not one surrounded by screaming amusement park rides. Niagra Falls sounds wonderfully romantic, but you have to know your girlfriend to know if she would appreciate that or not. What are HER interests? We women do like it to be a special moment - some of us want it to be done in private, and others want public attention when the guy proposes. What do you think SHE would like? After you decide whether she would want it to be public or private, then you can think about activities she likes to do or places she likes to go and see how they fit in with what you like to do or where you like to go. I think you will find your answer there.

I don't think proposing needs to be expensive. I would like something spur of the moment. On top of the Ferris Wheel would be good.
On Miami Ink the other day a guy getting a tattoo had them just put the stencil of Will you Marry Me on his back so when his girlfriend came back from getting a drink it was there.
It was planned but nothing too fancy.

The thing I see popping up most here (besides the ring & money) is "friends". I think that when you Pop that specific question it should be private with just the two of you...not with friends along on the outing, even if you do go off by yourselves.
What is the one thing or place in the whole wide world (within your budget) that she loves more than anything else...besides you of course? I think that is the atmosphere where you should be when you ask her...even if it is just swinging in the park. Just the two of you is the key I think.
Being asked the most important question of her life in a place she loves to be...WOW...that spells romance.
be cool...

I would go with # 2. It's expensive but definitely worth it. This might be a one time thing so don't worry about the money. You can always pick up a second job and earn it back...
Niagara Falls is Beautiful. You can propose to her by the mist at night time when there aren't very many people and you'll see colorful Niagara Falls...It's quite nice!!

I would say that your first thought is good, is romantinc and cheap. I would go for that one, besides, it would be a proposal she wouldnt forget, because is different. Your just have to make it nicer out there, like bring some candles, some champane or wine, and perhaps a little bit of music, and prepare de scene on the place that you think is the most romantic.

well i like the camping idea, and i think she would love it! especially if the money situating is going to be tight. I think she will understand after you pop the question. But if i were you i would do like you said take her to the camping because if you go EVERY year then that would be just as special.
Just make sure you save that money for a good HONEYMOON.....LOL
Well good luck and i hope i helped!
