Having lived through the 70's and 80's as an adult, there is no question that America is more sexually conservative today than it was then.
The only less conservative issue is that it's more accepting of sexuality other than strictly heterosexuality now, than it was then.

It depends on which circle you hang in. Some people would say we are more sexual as a country compared to the 70's and 80's.

Conservative? No, Turn on the tv and watch a music channel or E!... i'm sure there's either innuendo or someone wearing something skimpy. I think back in the 70's and 80's we were better behaved, minus Madonna, of course lol.

If you want an example of how things are, take a look at the reaction to Janet Jackson's escapade at the Super Bowl. We can show all the graphic violence we want on TV, but when a body part that's forbidden is shown, the world is going to end!
So yes, I agree that things are much more conservative than in earlier days.

The US has always been Puritanical. Even at the hieght of the so called sexual revolution that streak of puratanism ran deep. It is just coming to the fore again because of the influence of conservative Xtianist and their allies in the republican party.

I don't think so. You see a lot of it in the movies,t.v., and other forms of media. People talk about it a lot still. Almost like there is nothing else in Life but sex. To each their own though.; )

I highly doubt that. You have it more as an accepted part of our culture that people are having more sex. I think that is the reason it does not seem to be a big deal to a lot of people anymore.

AIDS is helping us all keep it to ourselves a bit better, yes, thank you.
And if it isn't that,
try HPV now.
We will decimate our populaiton according to nature somehow, but we don't want to go THAT way!
