it must take 2 people 1 day to paint 2 houses. Its not an equation.

You've got to think logically instead of mathematically with this one. You really don't have to do a math equation to figure this out. Think about it. Ten people would get twice as much work done in the same amount of time as five would. That means 5 people would take 120 days to complete 30 houses because twice as many people can do twice as much labor in that amount of time.
