Stress is the number one factor in the world today which, if one is constantly under it, can lead to any number of serious ailments. That it leads to diseases is commonly vouched for by doctors all over the world. Definitely, in todays world , one cannot avoid it and, unbelievably, at the same time...you can avoid it.
The reason why human beings are stessed out is because they are always , either , living in the past...or in the future. Please think about this...its true. You may have any number of excuses, but they all point out to one significant element....the Past...or ...the Future. None of us are willing to live in the Present.
You want to know what living in the Present really means? Just look at a baby.....its always in the Present. Look at the animals...no cares, no worries and yet they are always provided for...thats living in the Present. The cat is the most wonderful example of what it really means like living in the Present. Observe it very carefully.
I have some rules which i follow very strictly in order not to be stressed out. You can try these out too...if you so wish
.
1. I follow the Breathing technique. Breathe in...Breathe out. Do this any number of times or till the time you feel your discomfort going away...and go it will...this is my promise. I do this by sitting comfortably in a chair. I watch my breath...it should be even. You want to know how relaxed you are? Watch your breath very carefully...its a barometer of your moods. It changes as your moods change. Watch it especially when you are angry. Then you may understand what im trying to explain. If you are really serious, then please go join a Yoga class and tell them to teach you Pranayama.
2.Take up something you are really interested in. This one factor is really sucessful in lowering down your stress levels.
3. Do not ever worry. Remember, it is your birthright and your priveliege to work and even hope for, but never to expect any results. That is the domain of whoever created you.
4.Lastly, not worrying is actually living in the Present. You are confident that, come what may, you are aware, deep down, that everything will always be allright.....and trust me ....It Will. For if God can take such good care of the animals, and the birds, and the plants....will He then not take care of you, Her most Beloved.

Tips to avoid stress
Aim to exercise regularly. Exercise dissipates the adrenaline that builds up in stressful situations and leaves us feeling with a sense of achievement and control.
Eat healthily. Ensure you are getting adequate vitamins and minerals in your diet. One recommendation that very few of us manage is to eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables daily.
Make sure you are getting enough sleep. People need varying amounts ranging from 5 or 6 hours to 10 hours a night. By trial and error, you will know how much sleep YOU need to perform at your best.
Learn to think clearly and set yourself realistic goals and objectives. Work through one problem at a time in a logical way.
If you feel a panic or anxiety attack coming on, think through the problem by breaking it down. Imagine the worst that can happen. Nine times out of ten, it then appears less serious.
Say NO to tasks and projects you cannot take on. People will not think any less of you. After all, they have not got ESP.
Remember that you are human and mistakes are inevitable. Learn to view mistakes as learning opportunities and problems as challenges.
Practice positive visualisation. Think about a time or a place when you were relaxed and at peace. It could have been on a holiday or a day off. Try to recreate the situation again in your mind, thinking about the sights, sounds and smells you experienced. Visualise yourself back into the scene. You will find that after 5 to 10 minutes you feel much more relaxed as your brain does not know the difference between imagining a situation and actually being there. Some people call it day dreaming but visualisation is a very powerful tool in reducing stress and anxiety.
Take time out for yourself. Make sure you are doing some things in your life because they are important to you, rather than because you ought to or should do. You deserve to take a break occasionally, do not feel guilty enjoy it.
Accept your strengths and weakness and like yourself anyway. If you do not like yourself, you cannot expect anyone else to. Understand also that you cannot change anybody else - only yourself.
Practice physical relaxation techniques. Progressive relaxation contracting and relaxing all the body parts is a very effective way of reducing tension.
Sports Massage is an alternative method of helping to relieve tension and to relax you.

6 Tips to Avoid Stress
Did you know that in tense situations, your body responds? Heart beats are faster, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, sweat gets worse and digestion is slower. Find out how you can combat these reactions to stress through sports, meditation and breathing exercises.
If you stay still all day at desk or in a car and you have to deal with tense situation, stress chemicals remain in the blood. Because of this we have headaches. In some cases stress accumulates to such an extent that a minor incident can trigger a real crisis. Discover the things that are in direct connection with stress.
What are the physical symptoms of stress?
The main physical symptoms of stress are: palpitations; dizziness; loss of culinary appetite or, on the contrary, increased it; digestive problems; insomnia; pronounced state of fatigue; frequent infections; reduced sexual desire.
How stress affects your behavior?
The feeling of sadness that occurs after the stress is manifested through depression, anxiety, panic attacks, pessimism and dissatisfaction. Stress can make person unbearable. Work is also affected – becoming forgetful, lethargic and unable to concentrate.
Can you get sick?
Stress does not produce directly any disease, but sometimes is responsible for certain conditions such as allergies, asthma, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, eczema, psoriasis. Stress increases the blood pressure and cardiovascular disease can appear. Therefore, it is important to take measures against stress. Here are the most simple of them:
1. Interview yourself!
Discover situations where you have noticed that you become very anxious. Try to discover what were the reasons that makes you that way. Write down to know what options you will have when you are facing a similar situation.
2. Apply breathing exercises!
Slowing the breathing diaphragm is one of the most effective ways to combat stress. Calm yourself and control your breathing through a few deep breaths. Return to normal breathing and then repeat. If the situation continues to be tense, raise your shoulders and say “Everything it’s ok!”.
3. 15 minutes for health
You read many times, but did you ever practice, giving your body the opportunity to regain balance? Exercise does not take more than 15 minutes. Lie on your back on a hard bed. Keep your hands by your sides, close your eyes and breathe deeply to release tension. Removes tension in the legs, hands and neck. Notice the relaxation that occurs in the muscles.
4. Methods to control stress
The following techniques help you control stress more effectively:
Meditation – requires physical relaxation. Sit comfortably on a bed or in a chair, close your eyes and relax. Focus your thoughts on an object; breathe 4 times, visualizing an image with a flower or a candle while repeating words like “peace”, “relaxation”, “serenity”.
Visualisation – Imagine a scene in detail, smell the flavors, enjoy the sounds. Repeat positive phrases. Before any tense event, view the picture that calms you. Then think about the tense situation and imagine how you can solve the problem.
Active Meditation – Focus your attention on everything you do. You focus on present moments, without worrying about the past or the future.
5. Do not forget about sport!
Exercise helps to remove stress hormones in the blood and stimulates the release of endorphins (happiness hormones). Make exercises at least 20 minutes a day. Perform an aerobic activity 3 to 5 times a week.
6. What to drink?
Quit coffee! It is better to drink teas. Do not forget the water – drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Source: http://deluxetips.com/6-tips-avoid-stress/

Fact of life: We live in what the Bible calls “critical times hard to deal with.” (2 Timothy 3:1) Because of that, anxiety can affect young people as much as it affects adults. There is a bible based article I am going to add as the source that has helped me in several situations when I feel overwhelmed and stressed. Here I am just going to post a few major points and hopefully when you have time you will take a look at the rest.
Ways to cope with Anxiety
Question the reasonableness of your anxiety. “Being concerned about your responsibilities is one thing; being overly anxious is another. It reminds me of the saying, Anxiety is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.”
The Bible says: “Who of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his life span?”—Matthew 6:27.
What this means: Unless anxiety leads you toward a solution, it will only add to your problem—or become your problem.
Take things one day at a time. “Think it through. Will what you are anxious about matter tomorrow? in a month? in a year? in five years?”
The Bible says: “Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.”—Matthew 6:34.
What this means: It makes no sense to take on tomorrow’s problems—some of which may never even become a reality.
This article below mentions several other ways to cope with stress. I hope you find it as helpful as I have and many others :)

Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to avoid stress. Stress occurs when 'too much' is coming at us too fast, and we can't process it all.
