...just stops, sits down and stares at the sky, oblivious to me. He just looks around, calmly, like he's in a trance and doesn't want to be bothered. he won't budge until he's ready, about 3-5 minutes after his meditation, or whatever it is. It's rather funny. Do you think he migh be a reincarnated monk or something?

That's so cool! I never thought of it as 'meditating' but my Aussie and Aussie Cattle Dog do that too, and I always called it "basking' because it reminded me of a lizard basking in the sun! Yes, it's like they are just absorbing the moment, isn't it? Maybe I shall begin to call it meditating, as well! I just take that moment as a signal to slow down out of my busy life and enjoy the moment. I like to think of it as one more glorious lesson from my darling dogs! I learn so much from them!

I have three dogs and they don't meditate. I don't want to scare you, but your dog may have seizures, see your veterinarian and have a check up for your dog.Good Luck.
