Of course there is such a thing as the white hawk...lol though many people have never heard of this species .The White Hawk, is a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, which also includes the eagles, hawks and Old World vultures.The White Hawk is a resident breeding bird in the tropical New World, from southern Mexico through Central and South America to Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. It also breeds on Trinidad.they are white, except for black markings on the outer primaries, and a black sub terminal tail bar. The eyes are yellow and the beak blackish horn. Did you see a white hawk somewhere? Where?
There are albino hawks, as well as leucistic hawks. Any species can have individuals that are either.
It's hard to give specifics of species without knowing where you are on the globe...
There is a subspecies of Red-tailed hawk that is very light in color called a Krider's Hawk.
If you are up north it could be a light morph Gyrfalcon. Possibly a Snowy Owl (they're out in the day like a hawk--not night)...

You do get White Hawks, The Siberian gos hawk is bright white and often used for hunting. The Gyr Falcon comes in white, black, grey and silver.
there are also many other white or pale phase raptors out there including albino versions of most species.

I don't think any pure white hawks exitst. There are some birds of prey that have a lot of white on them..but are not all white. See below...photo of White-tailed kite, a bird of prey with a lot of white coloring:
