I know that Daniel rejected the food that the King wanted to serve him and opted for veggies to avoid eating unclean things. Welp, Jesus declared all things clean, but tell that to the pimples on my face. Can someone give some good advice for me to change my ways and still enjoy food? I'm going to start a veggies & fruits diet. That sounds easy, but it's NOT! How can I change my diet to veggies & fruits, but not suffer "it tastes nasty" syndrome? Any way to spice up the new eating habit???

Buy cooking without - the veggie one, but remember to use beans and pulses as they will replace a lot of the nutrients you would have got from the meat and grains. Also stick to fish as well because oily fish is especially good for you - mackerel herring, salmon, tuna etc.

If you really don't want to eat fish eat linseed, pumpkin and sunflower mix as these contain you EFA as well - when eating linseed you must drink a lot of water.

Some of my faves are

Baked potato and hummus

Salmon and green lentils

roasted sweet potato and grilled lemon sole

quinoa stew with 3 beans

3 bean Thai curry

the list goes on and on and on

email me if you want more info

Good Luck

Get some vegetarian cookbooks or look up recipes online. (Guilt Free Gourmet by Vicki Grifin has excellent dressings - and entrees, soups, etc)

Learn to make basic sauces, dips & dressings and the fruit and veggies will taste much better. The ones I make are basically a base of cooked rice & raw cashews or cashews & sunflower seeds in equal portions with just enough water to blend for a dip or more for a dressing. Mix in seasonings to create the different flavors you want. Salt, onion, garlic, dill, lemon juice, yeast flakes (not bread yeast, but yellow nutritional flakes to give it a cheesy taste) or a dehydrated onion or veggie soup mix make an easy dip. Make it honey, cinamon, or other sweet treat flavors for a fruit dip or spread.

You'll get used to the taste and will grow to prefer it, and your body will love the change!

(And Jesus declared all PEOPLE clean...refuting that the gospel was for the jews only and the gentiles were unclean....keep reading the story, Peter explains his vision.)

The "it tastes nasty" syndrome will probably occur for two weeks no matter what. It takes about two weeks for your tongue to replace all of the taste buds that you have which is what makes you have the different perceptions of food. I used to drink very sugary tea and then in a Nutrition Science class We had to do a two week experiment on the perception of taste. I drank unsweet tea for two weeks and now I can't stand the taste of sweet tea. Just give it time and you'll change your taste of food.

Well first you can fast, which means not eating, for at least a day because then your body will want food so bad, that it will that anything and then start eating vegetables. The more vegetables you eat it, the faster your body will get use to it and you will start liking it.

Contact a Seventh Day Adventist church in your area. They have promoted a vegetarian diet for many years and have cooking workshops and many recipes and cook books available. They will be more than happy to help you whether you believe their doctrine or not.
