Take it from a native Atlantan, Coca Cola came first. It was invented in 1886, it was originally sold only at soda fountains. Later it was sold in a 6.5 ounce green glass bottle (the coke was never green) as a tonic. It was said to stimulate, was often offered as a cure for a hangover. It was made from coca leaves (which did contain small amounts of cocaine) and kola nut (source of caffine as well as a few other alkaloids), hence the name Coca Cola. They changed the formulation in 1906 to remove any coca in the drink.

Pepsi was invented in the 1890's and wasn't trademarked till 1903, then came RC cola in 1905 (from columbus georgia)
