once you get the paperwork, and he has entered you into DEERS, you can go to any military installation, including Guard and Reserve Bases, that process ID. You can look them up in the Blue Government section of your Phone book. You should call ahead to find out of they have special hours that they process IDs and find out exactly what documents you need to provide on top of the DoD Form that your spouse will be sending you if he is not statioend where you are right now. Typcially, he has to be there with you to get your ID.

I'm guessing the closest locations would be either Moffett Field in Sunnyvale or Travis Air Force Base near Fairfield.

where ever your huband is stationed is where you should get your ID. you need to have your marriage certificate, an ID with you and your husband and theyll issue you a ID...you also need to get put into the system for when you want to enter a base. youll need to get command sponsored and that is kind of a long process so get started as soon as you can. I fyoure not sure what to do ahve your husband ask his suporvisor or someone in his chain of command theyll know what to do.

usually you would get your ID when you get to where your husband is stationed at. You will use your Drivers license when he takes you through the gate at the base he is stationed at then he can take you to the reception center on base and they will give you an ID. If you know of a recruiters office in your neighborhood they can tell you where to go and get it if you absolutly need it before you go, but I would think your husband would have to be there to get you on to the base there in Cali.

Go to http://www.defenselink.mil and you'll be able to find all the branches of the U.S. military. You can find military installation near your area. Or open up a telephone book and look for a military recruiting station that can direct you to the nearest military facility. I know that recruiting station have admin personnel that can issue you dependent military i.d. cards.
