I don't mean settle as in that is not really what i want.I would view the relationships with the lovers as more than just nookie.I think i struggle with the idea of conforming to a monogomous relationship as long as i am care ful don't you think.Commiting to one person sounds so ordinary.

date like it's a job. go out a couple times a week at least. You don't have to know what you want in order to find it, you just have to put yourself out there enough until you realize all the things you don't want.

Beyond that, it's fun...especially "lots of lovers".

Personally I would not just sleep around. I would wait and chat to any potential men to find out as much as I can about them. Develop a deep friendship with someone and you will just know when the time is right for both of you to take the next step. Take your time and be choosy. Remember it's all about compatibility and not so much about their looks. Well done on being independent - I admire you!

Not having had a relationship for years is the crux here. Where do you begin to look for decent companionship. Certainly not on here as you will have gathered. Start by joining classes, (keep fit and the like), hold get togethers with friends and their friends. I think you will not be alone for too long. You are no doubt a sensible lady who will be a great catch for some lucky man. Dont lower yourself to one night stands. Big mistake. Wish you well.

do what you want according to where you are in life. If deep down inside you are ready to settle down then go for it. But if you feel like having fun and being on your own then do it. Don't let other people talk you into doing something that you really don't want to. P.S. I like that independent part.

Whatever floats your boat honey, its your life - don't involve everyone! We ain't gon be there to cheer you up when you're 49, single, miserable, out of shape, and drinking your misery away. Spend some time for growing up instead of chewing it all up on independence. Its not enough to get you through life.

Everybody needs someone to love. A partner that's going to be there physically AND emotionally. Find a boyfriend NOT lots of lovers. If you just find lots of lovers you will still feel empty and lonely. No one will be there to talk to.

Do what's right for you, don't just settle down because society expects you to - wait until you find the right man and until then have all the fun you want.

Im a bloke but want a decent relationship to last...

It's hard but so much better. The one night things are okay when your young. But still it's everyones opinion and i think it does'nt make you a sl*g or anything. Popular and sexy maybe.

At some point in your life it will hit you that you want someone for life, children and marriage. etc.

No one can tell you what to do... what happens, happens.

Nobody is ever really happy when they settle. Why sell yourself short. Find and accept only that which truly makes you happy.
