It took me 5 years of "filling-out-forms" within a 30 and 60 day time limit, and going to three different doctors,which I paid "out-of-pocket" to prove that I`m carrying 33# of foreign object inside my body and am 100% disabled. So, is it true that OUR government is going to allow "illegal aliens" to have rights-to-social-security-benefits without proper,legal documentation just because some in D.C.[who have family ties and will benefit] are pressing for the unlawful invaders to be allowed "privileges" in the U.S. that wouldn`t be allowed by their country of orgin. There is NO foreign country that would allow an American citizen to go into their country illegally and "demand" rights to their benefits that ONLY the legal citizens of that country deserved. So, WHY is this country even considering such a disgraceful action?? Have those "in power" lost ALL sense of decency and lawful behaviour??

It's sad. When government programs start up people are quick to think about the good while never realizing what is given up or put little thought into the ends of the program. It is possible and unfortunately this is what you get when you vote for a democrat. Special interest groups and rich politicians that get that way off of the good person's heart and vote! The republicans are just as guilty, just not in this case! This is happening in many states and it won't take long before it happens in the federal system. Maybe you should truly understand the harm of government interaction before voting. ~ Libertarian

This is nuts. I too have a medical problem. I need life saving surgery. I am collecting social security, but I am only 63. I cannot recieve Medicare until I am 65. My father served in WW11, my brother in Viet Nam. I have worked and paid taxes all my life. My children are law abiding citizens, who according to the government will not be able to recieve social security benefits because it will run out. And now they want to give what is left to these unlawful intruders. They get everything, we get nothing.
What did my father fight for? What did my brother fight for?
My children are hard working people, because I raised them to be responsible. Looks like they would have been better off using the free handouts that all the losers and law breakers are getting.

yes I have heard that too but then look who has been in power for the past 7 yrs and the changes he has made to laws and social security he has paved the way for immigrants to get everything while taking away from natural born Americans but then what can you expect from a man who can't think or talk for himself and as for freedom of speech he took that away too look at all the people who have lost everything just for saying they don't like King George.

This should NEVER be allowed to happen! Social Security should only be available to LEGAL citizens who have contributed during their working lives.

I don't think so. They can't support the ones that have paid into the fund all of their working career as it is. I don't think it makes sense to offer it to those that have never paid into it, or only paid for a limited amount of time.
Then again, this is the government we are speaking of. Do they ever do something that makes sense instead of dollars (for big corporations)?

Yes they are. They only have to have 18 units/credits here in US and 8 years of verifiable employment in Mexico to qualify. I hear you, it took my mom 5 years too and I think this whole thing sucks!

I've heard that they were talking about it and it is a major SLAP IN THE FACE to LEGAL citizens. These ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS don't deserve anything but a one-way bus ticket back to their home country!!!

one thing was we not at one time all immigrants? we took this land over from the Indians so are we still better than everyone who wants to live here? we took their land now we are calling it "ours".
