My dog has scabies mange. Can this condition infect carpeting?

I'm not sure how long the parasite/mite can live without a host. Good question to ask your vet.

Scabies can be left in the carpet. It is caused by a very small mite. You would do well to have the carpet treated as if for fleas. Bomb the house too. Continue treatment of the dog. Treat any external places where he rests also.

I'm not sure. But once the dog is well, shampooing the carpet probably will be a good idea- just in case.

You should get your dog treated this will lower the possiblity of that problem.
