I hate tomatoes but love ketchup. I think it's because tomatoes taste really bitter to me, but ketchup has a lot of sugar so it sweetens it up.

I'm one of those people! Ketchup has a bunch of other stuff added to it to make it ketchup. Tomatoes are just plain tomatoes. They are two totally different tastes.
A lot of things are like that. I don't like plain mayo, but I'll eat it if it's in certain salads, or in tunafish for a sandwich. And when I worked at a fast food place, there were plenty of people who came in and ordered burgers without the onion, but would order a side of onion rings!

Ketchup doesn't taste anything like a raw tomato. I don't care for tomatos at all but love ketchup, salsa, marinara sauce, chili, and other things that are made with tomatos. Fresh ones just don't appeal to me...
I joke with family that I think the medieval folks had it right, (raw) tomatos are poison. LOL!

I am just the opposite. I like tomatoes and hate ketchup.

I love both, so I can't answer. I don't really know anybody who loves ketchup, but hates tomatoes.

Great question...I have a daughter who does this. Loves ketchup, but can't stand tomatoes. She says it is because so does not like the taste or sensation of the gooey little seeds in her mouth. I tried serving them with sugar, and also with salt on them. It was a no go. Its the gooey-ness of the seeds.

i love both but my brothers like tomatoes but lkes ketchup and yeah i know it dosnt make since at all.
