All wisdom teachings say we must overcome the ego. One aspect of that is the feeling we are being told what to think and do.
Our parents have to protect us when we are young. Because we don't have enough experience in Life, and don't know the dangers.
At some point. A human being must learn to think for him or herself, in order to survive in the World. But the ego turns it into a struggle.
We call it "teen rebellion". And "parental control". And this causes
a resentment in us about being "told" what to do! But this is only
a stage that all human beings must go through.

yes.
to a point - as far as "the rest" is concerned, there is no way of knowing what will be useful or not useful at different points in your life, as your intelligence and maturity will (hopefully) progress. there is a certain naive trust required to believe that you can use what you need, and there will be more of what you need later. not that that is a bad thing, i actually tend to prefer friends who think that way, they are more fun! I would never want my husband to be like that though, because i wouldn't feel safe without a least a basic back up plan if something happened that changed everything. just saying most intelligent adults do have at least some practical worries.

Somewhat intelligent, yes. But do I always use my intelligence to best of my ability, no. Few people do, though.
But intelligence is not what we know, it is our ability to know.
And some of the most intelligent people in history had little or no education.
And just a note about intelligence: Many people think the Amish are backward, and uneducated. But who of us is better off? The Amish with their simple, contended life. Or us in the rat race.
The Amish are intelligent enough to keep it simple and live a good life. And they don't worry about the rest.

I think I am intelligent, not in the sense like am I a scholar or something like that but more intelligent. My life experience and what I have heard and seen "it does not matter who you are and what you are, where you were born, how much you have studied, not studied, rich poor, religious, non religious, no matter what, makes no difference to anyone. You can just die anytime. Thats one thing nobody however intelligent you are knows it. So I know the truth, I can die any minute and I dont care, I am ready.

All living organisms "use what they can use," so intelligence is not a prerequisite for using all you can. Intelligence allows us, we believe, to choose NOT to use some things we can use, and thus benefit ourselves and/or the rest of the world. Then we worry about how to convince others to join us so we can save things we think worth saving instead of using everything to extinction.

I do not consider myself an intelligent adult, but I am working on it.
Intelligent adults do use what they can use, but they try to do better....not to worry is right. In time, it will come.
