I have a friend that is breeding purebred cats and I told him that you can kill them from overbreeding. He does not beleive me, he breeds them everytime they go in heat, and I want him to stop. Please, any advice or links to web pages would be greatfully appriciated.

I don't know any URLs, but I've seen what can happen to a female who breeds every time she goes into heat: There was a wild momma cat that lived near my grandmother.

She will lose weight. She will become scrawny, and her fur will grow scruffy and dull, and might even fall out because she simply can't get enough nutrition to feed herself and her kittens.

I sure hope your friend isn't running a kitten mill!

My friends cat has gotten prego everytime she goes into heat.
At first she was having 4 or 5 at a time but now she only has 2 (alive) at a time. She seems to not want anything to do with them very soon after having them. She may just be tired of being pregnant and caring for the kittens.

No female can handle getting pregnant over and over, it stresses out the body physically and hormonally. In humans, you're likely to develop a type of diabetes that can be lethal if not caught.
If overbred, those females will live a LOT shorter than the other cats, pregnancy is very demanding and just sucks the energy out of you if you don't take excellent care of them, and if he's overbreeding than I doubt that he's taking the best care that he could, since a responsible breeder would have researched all that beforehand.

encourage him to get her spayed. there are too many unwanted animals in the world unfortunatly, don't need to be adding to that population.
