Highschool practice just started. I had been shooting in the low 40's, and the first 2 days i was fine, shooting 43 and 41. Over the last 4 days i have shot 47,49,46, and 50. I will not be starting in the first match, and need to be able to shoot better soon.

Are those days in a row? Everybody gets tired even the pros. As you get tired you will get sloppy. Take a day off and rest. Then go out to your local course spend 10min. warming up on the range with your three favorite clubs that you hit well. Not the ones you like to hit but miss everywhere. Then take those three and play nine holes. This will take a lot of the guess work out of what you do and make you think more about making a good swing with what you have. I have done this when not playing well with a 3 wood, a 7 iron, PW and a putter and shot 38. So give it a try

don't think about your slump, your position on team, your score, or your swing. Just go out there and try to have fun. Don't get frustrated. Keep swinging and play within your game. Don't try to go outside of your game such as trying to drive a short par 4 with water left and right. Just play within your game, try not to worry, and the scores will come. Everybody goes through this. Plus the first match always sucks anyways buddy. You'll be in the top 8 soon enough. Good Luck

hey man, i went through the same thing when i was playing in high school. All you got to do is not worry about your score when your playing your round. Its not really a slump your in, its the constant pressure you put on yourself during a round of golf. Split the 9 or 18 up into 3 hole courses setting a goal of like 2 over for those three holes. Then regardless of whether you reached the goal or not, begin the next three holes like a brand new round. Remember just relax and try not to think about your score.

Well you sure as h e l l shouldn't ask Phil for any advice, but don't worry about it everyone goes through a slump at some time in their career, even tiger has gone through a couple.

You just have to have confidence in yourself, and go out there and keep on doing what you were doing when you were shooting in the low 40s. You should eventually be back to your normal self, hitting those hole in ones... LOL, no disrespect : )

As some have said, everyone hits a slump, don't dwell on it. Rather, take a look at your game... Where are you loosing the most shots, driver, irons, short game, putts? When you identify your weakness, work on it, not at the exclusion of the rest of your game, but concentrate on the weaker part of your game and improve it. This will build your confidence, improve your score and get you back into the starting rotation!

slow down your backswing and get tempo on your downswing, the one thing I do the most when I get a little off track is to go hit a lot of pitches and putt a lot of balls (when i can i get to two practice courses a day and putt 100 to 200 puts per green) try hitting pitch shots and knockdowns at flags, 120 and in with different clubs...hitting run-ups and high spinners, that way even if you are missing greens on approach you can still feel confident to land greens in puttable positions from up close

Hey first of all everone goes through at slump . If u are having difficulties , ake a breather leave out oglf for 2dyas or so then go bakc to it. dont think to much about the score, just try and finish the hole. If you think about the socre your mind does not focus completely on the shot. also visualise your shot before you hit it, this makes it seem easier in your mind.

Great question, I love Golf.and the one thing I can tell you is..

STOP THINKING ABOUT YOUR SLUMP!!!!...Golf is a game of patience. Slow every thing down...you might be swinging your club head to fast or your rushing the greens...or your just thinking to much...When I first started playing, I wanted to be good right away, But I was not..and I got mad and played worse...I settled down and started getting better everyday I played..

Good Golfing.....
