Hell is being eternally cast out from God's presence. And Satan chose that state.

Hell is a pit described in Isaiah 14:15 , Ezekiel 31:16. In proverbs 9:18 the bible mentions the depth of hell .Isiah 14:9 says hell is beneath the earth . There are more verses. God created every thing and Hell was created for unbelievers to suffer and be tormented for ever, in unbearable heat .He doesn't want to send unbelievers there but if you don't believe, trust, and accept him as your personal savior you Will be placed there for your sins.Forever.With Satan

The devil was once an angel in heaven, but he and a few others rebelled against God, so God created hell for the devil and his angels and now he want the rest of the world in hell with him. He is doing a good job.
