There is no substitute for drinking plain water. Adding decaf tea, will help hydration but the body has to process the chemicals. Water doesn't have to be processed by the body. The choice is yours.

You can drink some decaf tea to substitute but you still need water. Try drinking one of the new flavored waters instead.

No, not as a total substitute for plain water....
It's fine for meal time...but you should find a way to drink water without additives unless you just add maybe fresh lemon or lime juice for flavor...
Do NOT buy flavored bottled waters - why? because they have sugars and other additives that defeat the purpose
I built a liking and tolerance for water by first buying the shorty bottles of spring water which were easier and quicker to drink then building up to more water at each drinking session...funny, I didn't like water either, but as I began to drink it, my body and tastes changed and now I dearly love it!

I would think trying to drink 6-8 glasses of tea a day would be a bit much. A dr. told me once that lightly sugared kool-aid is a good sub for water, (I use Splenda baking sugar blend for 1/2 the calories). The idea is minimal filtration for your liver & kidneys, tea still has tanic acid & other stuff to filter out, but it's supposed to be good for lowering cholesterol, but it's staining to your teeth. Squeeze some lemon or a wedge of orange in H2O, see if that makes it more tolerable.

There really is no substitute for plain old water. That's what our bodies need. There are flavored waters you might like.
