ok I have been on a diet which consists of low sodium and low calorie daily intake with about a gallon of water a day. I go to the gym 6 days a week which cardio was 3 - 4 times a week for 45 give or take a few minutes. I worked out with weights 6 days a week but alternated the workout each night so my muscles would have time to recover. I lost a little over 14lbs in 4 weeks. About 2 weeks ago I changed my routine a bit because I lost alot of weight but it wasnt showing around my stomach area. I cut coffee and alcohol out completely and I run for 5 days a week now for 50 - 60 minutes a day. I actually am losing weight at a slower rate now. I have only lost just about 2 lbs in the past 2 weeks. What am I doing wrong with this diet? I just want to lose about 1-2 inches off my stomach and lovehandle area.

Well, actually slower weight loss is better but I understand your frustration. Perhaps with the increase in activity you have also been building muscle, which is heavy and so although your body may be getting smaller/tighter the scales won't reflect a significant decrease in pounds.

Sounds like you're doing great though. Don't get discouraged. When you burn calories, they burn from all over your body so you can't spot reduce...however, you may want to focus some of your workout on your ab area specifically to tone those muscles around the middle, and thus get the visual result you desire with a smaller and firmer looking stomach.

The more weight you need to lose the quicker you will lose it. As you have lost a great deal already, your weight loss is bound to slow. Just keep up the good work and maybe speak to an instructor at the gym, they might be able to suggest some exercises that will help shift weight from he stomach area.
