We are going on a trip around California in the summer and will be staying near Newport Beach. My wife is a big fan of the show and therefore we would like to see if we can see any of the locations featured in the programme.

I expect nearly all of the interiors are done in a studio somewhere but what about the buildings and outdoor shoots?

You'll have a wonderful time - my great aunt lives on Balboa Island, which is just a ferry boat ride across from Newport Beach. The weather is always nice there!

I am a big fan of the show as well. You can visit the famous pier scenes on Newport Beach - toward the south end, closer to Laguna Beach. They also film a lot of scenes at the popular Newport shopping Center - Fashion Island. Take Jubille Exit off the Freeway to get here.

Visit the Newport Beach Pier to see the diner, and shopping area the kids work in. You can also find the "Bait Shop" building at the pier.

Enjoy your vacation!

Most buildings are privately owned, so most likely not. But if its public property like a beach or a resturaunt there should be no problem. People houses, rooftops, and places like that I'd say not. Nothing will be like "As seen on OC" so don't expect it to be labeled. Seeing an actual episode being filmed is extremely unlikely since they've probably filmed them all already, and if not the set will be closed off.

Hey. I live in West kensington. Its right next to the Kensington section of Philly. Honestly, this is a bad neighborhood. If you want to go - you need to go in the day while the sun is shinning. Try knowing the directions you will be taking to avoid getting lost. In a car would be best. If you need to take public transit that works but you will need to walk some & that is more risky. Just be aware of your surrondings. You will see some crazy stuff. Just try not to look lost or talk too much to people & you should be ok. Also Please realize that the homes you want to look at are real people's homes. They live there so respect there privacy. goodluck :)

Yes, if you contact the studio they can give you a list of locations. We did this once with another program.
