I don't believe that my pastor knows more about science than a scientist does. However, I do believe THESE people:

I wouldn't think that a pastor would know more about science than a scientist. I would also think that a scientist would know the difference between science, and metaphysics.
If a scientist is going to comment on the origin of life, he might as well speculate on what happens to us after we die. Both subjects are not applicable to scientific research. Even laymen should know the difference between science (the product of the Scientific Method: observation, repeatability and falsifiability), and speculation.

I certainly don't. I am a Christian, but I don't believe that a pastor is more knowlegeable in science than a scientist. That doesn't mean that the pastor's belief is false.
I definately believe Creation happened, and God is the creator.
There are Christian Scientists also...I know one, and he told me that
the scientists who support evolution reject 95% of information from the geological colum/fossile record. They have to change their theory because the cambrian explosion contradicts it.

What if your pastor has a doctorate in neuroscience from Yale University, and undergraduate degrees in molecular and cellular biology, chemistry, and biochemistry? Do you think he might know more than a scientist with fewer degrees?

Good question. People would rather believe comforting fairy tales from the pulpit than investigate the real world.
