Yes, that was Jesus's whole purpose of coming the earth. To give us salvation. Without God becoming flesh(Jesus) and dying for the sins of the world, we would have to bear the pain and suffering of our sins and eternal separation from God and heaven. Jesus took the sins of the world upon His shoulders and suffered and died so we would not have too.

yes without the death of Christ we would be die in our sin- however- He also rose again, and lives so we can have hope that we will live eternally with Him.
