Did Mohammed get his idea's from the Pagens moon god who was called Allah? And also the pagens prayed toward Meca, And there symbol was the moon in a cresent shape. I am just wondering. ALLAH is not a moon God. ALLAH IS GOD!!!!!!! Muhammad(PBUH*) is the final prophet of ALLAH and started receiving visions from ALLAH in his 40s I think. The crescent moon and star are not symbols of Islam. They are symbols that were used in the Ottoman Empire. Muslims don't believe in symbols and we don't have any real use for them. Some countries like Turkey do have the crescent moon on their flag. The pagans didn't pray to Makkah, they prayed to their idols.

The word "Allah" means "God" in Arabic. It could have referred to any of the Gods the Arab Pagans worshiped.
The basis of Islam is "There is no God but Allah" (there is no one worthy of being worshiped except Allah). There is *NO* place for idol worship in Islam.
The moon wasn't used as a symbol until the Ottoman Empire used it as their flag. Its not a symbol of Islam, though many people have adopted it.
There is no symbol of Islam.
That is a Christian site, and a biased Christian site too.

ok sweetie, lemme explain, in simple easy to understand English:
the Prophet Muhammad, was a MESSENGER of GOD, okay?
and he preached ISLAM, alright?
and in ISLAM idol worship is PROHIBITED, actually, worshipping ANYTHING else, other than GOD is wrong, get it?
so, basically, Muhammad (pbuh) did NOT get his ideas from the pagans.
and "ALLAH" in ARABIC means GOD - understand?
