I havent talked to this guy in probaly a year now and he ims me conventially after his g/f breaks up with him and I just got a boyfriend. Why do people want what they cant have? He didnt want me a year ago when he was single and so was i but now he does?

I've got to disagree with on the previous posters. Yes all guys are idiots. Every last one of us. (all men are dogs, some are just better trained then others). As for a more direct answer to your post. Maybe he's changed his mind, maybe he wants what he can't have, and maybe he just likes the idea of wanting someone and you being involved makes you a safe choice. Men who can't handle real relationships tend to sit and pine for someone they can't have.

When I'm taken, I like to think that I'm exclusive. I do my best not to flirt or bug other women like I usually do.
These situations are different with every male. Maybe he's scanning the market and being like this with everyone.
