I am going through that right now. My head hurts! Try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean). I've been doing it at work too.

The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot. The special bottle and salt is about $20.

You can do this a often as you like with no bad side effects.

You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. So if you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis.

Did you know that drainage can upset your stomach so much that you'll throw up? I had the same thing last week, I'm glad that's over. But you may need to go see your doctor, because sounds like this virus has turned bacterial on you. As for the runs , been taking a lot of drugs to try to feel better? Your body isn't used to all those meds, and that's your bodies way of dealing with though drugs.I hope you feel better soon. I am feeling better, 2 days after my doctor put me on an antibiotic and decongestant.

Take immodium for the diarrhea and be advised that you have the FLU not a cold. You do not get diarrhea with a cold. Eat light foods like broth, soup, crackers, and jello etc. Wash your hands often to minimize the spread of germs and take pain relievers for any aches and pains you have.

Drink lots of fluids like juices, gatorade. Stay away from dairy as they will make mucus worse. Try eating soup, bread, rice, anything light and plain first. If you can handle that then you can start slowly eating "real" foods again.

try "air-borne"...if you have diarrhea. you should start the BRAT diet...bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Above all, you should keep yourself as hydrated as possible.....gator aide or ginger ale.
Try chicken broth also....hope you feel better soon.
