I met an awesome guy recently. We have mutual friends. He is recently divorced (his wife left him). I know that he is interested in me, I can see it all over his face. He seems reluctant for some reason (possibly not wanting to get rejected again). Is there a certain way to let him know that it is okay to talk to me? He hasn't even asked for my number. How do you deal with a man that is newly divorced and looking to be back on the 'singles scene'?

im in the same situation. (as the recent divorced guy) The problem i have is not knowing what to do on the dating scene because ive been out of it for so long. the best thing you can do is take it slow and be the one who is more aggressive and initiates things. probably hasnt asked for your number or anything because he doesnt remember how, that's my problem at least...

Just let him know in a nice way that does not make you seem to anxious, or interested too much and too soon, that you are available if he wants to talk. I am going through this same thing right now myself, and we have to be very careful with these type situations. I am sure that he is reluctant and rejection does hurt very much, either way it goes. I think that he will ask for your number in time. They guy that I am talking to was cheated on by his ex 3 times, so then you have the trust issues that have to be dealt with, maybe not in his case though. Why did she leave him. That may help to know why she did. Maybe it was not his fault, so that will be better for you, lol.

You say that you have mutual friends, is there a way that they can put the two of you together.

Speak to one of your mutual friends who you feel comfortable with and be creative. Maybe they can set the two of you up on a date, have a small dinner party. I am sure there is a way, how about the next time you come in contact with him, you take the initiative and tell him you would like to get together with him,

Nothing big, lunch, go for a pizza or just coffee..

give him time. He needs to adjust. You can let him know that you are sympathetic to his needs and feelings.
If you dont want to do that, then show up naked with a pizza and a case of beer.
