I've read it cover to cover somewhere around 8 to 10 times, not certain. Each time I read it I learn new truths and I expect this will continue to be the case.

I've yet to finish, but I skip around a lot and read different Books and chapters. Love the books Job and Psalms. I know I've read the book of Genesis several times all the way through. I don't understand a lot of it, but I have recently joined a new Sunday School class that breaks everything down and includes the history of israel as well as the history of the bible in general. The lessons are very detailed and specific. May I suggest you look for a study group in your area. It's always helpful to see how different people interpret different parts.
Good Luck in your attempt.

3 times. Once when I was 12 I read the KJV. At 15 the NIV and at 20 the NIV.

Once. I got bogged down in all the fighting in the Old Testament & it was really giving me a bad attitude so it took a while to get through it.
I prefer reading Psalms, praying about what to read, and doing subject studies. I do choose books of the Bible to read through, but have figured it's best for my attitude not to read straight through certain parts without tempering it with other sections.
Enjoy your reading!

I don't think I have read the whole Bible through all the way.
I have read the New Testament about 1000 or more times.
I never could get into numbers or Chronicles.
I liked Psalms and the prophets.
Genesis was ok too.
When it got into all those laws I lost interest.

I am new to Christ, just been a believer for almost 6 years.
I have read it cover to cover 5 times, am working on my 6th time.
I am trying a couple of different reading and studying techniques so I am prepared for this read through to take quite a bit longer.

I have read the Bible through several times in the past years. Assuming that you currentlly livein the USA, do not be surprised if what you see in the Bible and what you see in 'real life' here do not match. We 'Christians' have some 'repenting' and 'reconciling' to do presently.

I've read the whole thing cover to cover once. After that, I have skimmed through from part to part to help 'understand' it.
